My bootcamp moved to this lovely park near Silverlake this week. Yesterday was my first day at the new location. Today I was about five minutes late to camp, and as I rounded the drive up I noticed everyone was parked near a hill and they were running up the hill.
I knew then it would be a really long day. Feeling every single squat from the FIT TEST DAY, I joined in and immediately I realized that we were not alone on this hill. Oh No! There was a haze of gnats, mosquitos and other bugs that had descended on the wet grass. I’m not talking a few bugs. I’m talking thousands of bugs.
This made ‘cardio work’ a fun new challenge. Tubby Boys like myself already have an issue with breathing in these situations. NOW, I had to figure out a way to not breathe too deep else I would inhale the bugs. I learned this lesson after the four bug entered my body. A scenario neither bug nor I particularly enjoyed. Especially the bug that was inhaled through my nose.
A bit of a battle today truthfully. Several runs up the hill, some bear crawls, a half mile jog, 100 Squats, 100 Lunges and 100 Jumping Jacks. So, how do I feel? I feel so sore. Oh so very sore. I hurt in several places up and down all sides of my legs. In other words, the entirety of my legs hurts in ways I never could imagine. I had to lay my underwear on the floor and step into them and pull them up. That’s how bad my legs hurt. I can barely bend my knees. I had to repeat this with my jeans as well. All day people keep asking me… Are you okay? The answer is NO! I am currently sitting in an office chair, and there is a good chance, I may be here till Sunday.
