That Video Above is from a song that I used to listen the crap out of, and it really instills the WONDER that was my successful return to the world of Slow Carb! BTW, who tries to kick start their nutrition plan the week before Thanksgiving? THIS CRAZY GUY! After some encouragement from old Slow Carb Twitter friends, looking at your Jason! I decided it was time for to make this happen. No sense waiting any longer. Here are the results.

That’s right. I dropped (2) pounds and this was technically my ‘trial week’. I was just doing a bit of slow carb to get back into the feel. The good news is next week will be a full six days with a Cheat Day. SPARE TIRE IS BACK BABY! And for Christmas all I want is to be about 10 pounds lighter!
I re-started Slow Carb this week with some renewed intensity. One of the things that has really helped is brown bagging my lunch. And I didn’t realize it, but it does PLAY into the tenant of ‘Eat the Same Thing’ frequently. Sunday night for example, I made Chili, which then turned into Chili for lunch Monday. Last night, Braised Pork with Cauliflower turned into Lunch today. It also allows me to do a better job of making a lunch decision while I’m NOT stressed at work, which happens frequently. This has been why so many re-starts have failed the past year or so. Lunch just kills me.
In the GRAND honeymoon in 2011 with Slow Carb where I dropped almost 40 lbs, I ate at Chipotle every day for lunch. The same bowl, every day. No variations. However, after a job move, that routine did not work out so well. I quickly fell into making compromises and eating lunch at a different place almost every day. The pounds crept back on. Now, I have taken the STRESS point out of lunch completely, and I’m simply eating what I packed. It’s working great and I’m saving cash in the process. Oh, yeah, you and I almost forgot. Slow Carb is cheap as hell!
WoW, my last post was on September 2nd. That’s bad. That was two months ago. That means the last time I really sat down and took a look at my health was two months ago. I have been working out, sparingly, and I have been back on slow carb, but weigh ins have revealed that I’m simply stablized. It has been a very crazy busy past few months. A lot of creative projects, a lot of day job projects, big changes for my family, there’s been very little time for me. I have to change that, I have to carve out time for my well being. But then again, don’t we all?
